AUSTIN, Texas — What do Superman, Frankenstein and a guy in a grass skirt have in common? You may see them all running the streets of East Austin during the Credit Union Texas Twister 10K on Sun., Oct. 29. Surprised? Don't be. After all, the city's motto is "Keep Austin Weird."

The 3rd Annual Credit Union Texas Twister 10K Run/Walk, Kids K and Team Challenge features fun for the whole family. Annually scheduled to coincide with Halloween, costumes have become popular with participants of all ages. This year's theme is "Goin' Batty in Austin."

Since the Twister's 2004 inception, it has raised $110,000 for Children's Miracle Network. Last year, more than 300 individuals, including Texas Governor Rick Perry, participated in the events. The Credit Union Texas Twister 10K is a sister run to Washington D.C.'s Credit Union Cherry Blossom Run.
