EAST CHICAGO, Ind. — This year's National Puerto Rican Dayparade included a special credit union participant–AdvanceFinancial Federal Credit Union's Kids Club Mascot “Moe” theMonkey.
|The credit union's popular mascot was on-hand to make sureeveryone had a great time celebrating East Chicago's 25th AnnualPuerto Rican Day, which was established to create a nationalawareness and appreciation of Puerto Rican culture and itscontribution to U.S. society.
|The day is also an opportunity to promote the study andadvancement of Puerto Rican culture through community events,including: parades, musical productions, plays and art exhibitsacross the United States.
