MADISON, Wis. — The Filene Research Institute and the Center for Credit Union Innovation have tapped the next group of credit union executives to make up its i3 group. The group was formed in 2004 and consists of future credit union leaders with the mission to identify and create new product, service and business models to transform the credit union industry. The newest additions replace the 25 inaugural members who will fulfill their three-year term effective in September. "The Filene Research Institute is determined to tap the creative skills and energies of these leaders to benefit the industry," said Mark Meyer, Filene director of innovation. "This professional work group will draw upon the talents from highly talented credit union professionals. They will identify and evaluate potential and recent credit union innovations that meet member needs. The i3 group will also develop strategies to lower costs and increase credit union operational efficiencies, build member loyalty, and meet the special needs of member segments." The development of i3 was made possible through sponsorship in part by America's Corporate Credit Unions. The new members will meet for the first time Sept. 20-22 in Vancouver, B.C., Canada. With the addition of these new members, i3 now has a team of 40 innovators.
