Velocity Credit Union Supports Local Music

AUSTIN, Texas — Velocity Credit Union is taking center stage in supporting Austin’s reputation as “Live Music Capital of the World.” This year Velocity served as presenting sponsor of the legendary KGSR’s Unplugged at the Grove, one of Austin’s most eagerly anticipated annual musical traditions. Now in its 13th year, Unplugged at the Grove has presented some of Texas’ and the country’s most acclaimed musicians, including Shawn Colvin, Joe Ely, the Dixie Chicks, Kelly Willis, Nickel Creek, Guy Clark, and others. Recently, Velocity CU also teamed up with the top local radio station here to present “Josh Gracin – Live on the Lake.” Fifty lucky winners joined Velocity CU on a Lake Travis cruise for a private concert from the former American Idol finalist, who’s had three consecutive Top 5 hits in country radio. The ties to live music don’t end there. Credit union billboards posted around town tout “If you love live music, you can bank here,” further reinforcing the credit union’s support of popular free music events around the city.
