GLENDALE, Calif. – There's a new name and image in the works for Ralph's Federal Credit Union.

RFCU is working with Hollister-based marketing firm Redbeard Communications to help rename the credit union and develop a new logo that is more compelling to attract potential members.

"Ralph's employees can experience significant benefits through RFCU's service and offerings," said Gregg Hoffman, president of Redbeard. "Geographic barriers are dissolving at a rapid pace due to technology advances. A new name and logo will give the credit union the opportunity to re-target and re-approach a large market of potential members and should also help solidify existing member relationships."

The credit union, which serves employees of Ralph's Grocery, Food4less, Bell Markets, Cala Foods and Food Co., is updating its image to better compete with the mega-bank branches commonly located in Ralph's grocery stores and to better connect with its membership.

"Our members are Ralph's employees and that presents the unique set of challenges when competing for business with other banks' branches that are so conveniently located where our members and potential members work," said Dalia Bieltz, president/CEO of RFCU.

"It is an amplified example of a credit union's personal service and attention battling a mega bank's convenience. We are confident that our credit union's benefits, features and service levels can compete if properly promoted. We turned to Redbeard to develop identity materials that will grab the attention of our target members and give us the opportunity to win their business."
