NEW YORK – Municipal Credit Union has teamed up with the NY Children's Vision Coalition to help area kids receive much needed eye exams and vision screenings.

Some 32 children braved the rainy weather to participate in MCU's Kids Vision Van Day. Exams were conducted in the NY Children's Vision Van, a 37 ft. state-of-the-art mobile facility brightly decorated to be child friendly and operated in conjunction with the SUNY College of Optometry. Glasses and follow-up care will also be provided, if needed, to each child. Research finds that one in four kids have an undetected vision problem, which can affect their ability to learn and succeed in the classroom, sports and in life in general.

"MCU has always been about people helping people, and Kids' Vision Van Day is a perfect example of our commitment to the Yonkers' community, its employees and residents. We're very happy to be here and with the great turnout," said MCU Business Development Manager Ed Montgomery, who was instrumental in the event's success.
