ARLINGTON, Va. – NASCUS has added Federal Housing Finance Board nominee Geoff Bacino's name to the list of speakers who will address attendees at the association's upcoming State System Summit being held Aug. 10-12 in Dana Point, Calif.

Bacino, a former NCUA Board member and founder of the National Association of State Chartered Credit Unions, which later merged with NASCUS, will discuss goals for his term on the FHFB. His nomination has been approved by the Senate Banking Committee, and he is awaiting approval from the full Senate which he is expected to receive.

Bacino joins other notables on the Summit speaker list including J. Timothy O'Neill, senior counsel for the House Financial Services Committee, and CUNA Mutual Group President/CEO Jeff Post.

O'Neill will speak during the general session on August 10 and intends to discuss major House Financial Services Committee issues impacting credit unions such as regulatory relief and the Credit Union Regulatory Improvements Act. He will also talk about credit unions' role in the Federal Home Loan Bank system.

Post will talk on Aug. 12 about CUNA Mutual's efforts to combat growing plastic card fraud. He will also introduce CUNA Mutual Group's Senior Vice President of Credit Union Protection Mark Krasnick who will discuss the serious challenges posed by plastic card fraud and the steps the CU community must take to combat the crime.
