ESTES PARK, Colo. – Boulder Valley Credit Union has found a creative way to not only recruit and retain employees, but also generate goodwill in the community. The credit union has recently unveiled its new Employer Assisted Housing program that offers down payment assistance for its employees to buy a home. The move marks the credit union as the first employer in Estes Park to offer such an innovative program to help their employees achieve the dream of homeownership amid escalating housing costs. "I am extremely pleased to announce that Boulder Valley Credit Union is expanding our employee benefits package to include this assistance to our employees," said BVCU President/CEO Rick Allen. "Helping our employees become homeowners is good for our communities and our business. I encourage more employers in Estes Park to investigate offering down payment and other housing assistance benefits, which will help them recruit and retain good employees." BVCU will also be helping its affiliated companies in Estes Park and other communities with developing plans to offer this Employer Assistance Housing program to their employees. "Now that we have laid the groundwork for this exciting program, it should be much easier for other employers to develop and implement the program for their employees," said Wayne Turnacliff, BVCU board chairman. "A core value of credit unions is to give back to the communities they serve, this is just one way for us to show how we're committed to this deep-rooted philosophy."
