FREMONT, Calif. – Tranax, another ATM manufacturer which has made its name primarily serving retail outlets wants to make an inroad into the CU space.
The firm, which has just received an award for its innovation in the already competitive ATM market, says that it offers CUs an ATM option, which they can more easily tailor to their needs and budgets and at a price which significantly undercuts the price of major manufacturers.
The company said nine CUs in the past year have started using their machines.

In its award, Frost and Sullivan, the research firm that made the award, noted that the firm has offered financial institutions an inexpensive ATM at a time when they most needed them to make the necessary security and other upgrades.
The Frost and Sullivan singled out Tranax's MBS 5000 series as one way Tranax has expanded into the financial ATM market. The terminal is marketed to community banks and credit unions that are interested in replacing non-Triple-DES-compliant ATMs with low-cost alternatives.
