PORTLAND, Maine – TD Banknorth, a bank headquartered in Portland, has rolled out a no fee ATM card that it is marketing in Northeastern markets as part of the company's Bank Freely program launch. The No ATM Fees card is available with any TD Banknorth checking account for new or existing customers in these markets, and provides unlimited ATM transactions at any bank, anywhere in the world, that accepts Visa branded debit cards.
Customers using the No ATM Fees card will not be charged a fee by TD Banknorth and will be reimbursed for any ATM fees charged by other banks-and that's no small change. According to Bankrate.com, Americans will pay an estimated $4.2 billion in fees charged by other banks for ATM withdrawals in 2006.
