RANCHO CUCAMONGA, Calif. – The California and Nevada Credit Union Leagues' flagship publication, Credit Union Digest, has received three Communicator Awards for publications excellence. In the overall magazine category, the league received the award of excellence-the highest distinction-for the January 2005 issue of Credit Union Digest. Taking an advocacy-centric focus in order to reach both political and public spheres, the January 2005 issue offered members tips and guidelines to spread the truth about the credit union difference to their legislators and the community. The league also won an award of distinction in writing for the April 2005 CU Digest article about elder financial abuse; and an honorable mention award for the cover design of the June 2005 issue of CU Digest, which featured faith-based credit unions. The Communicator Awards is an international awards competition recognizing outstanding work in the communications field. There were 5,214 entries from throughout the United States and several foreign countries in the 2006 print competition.
