WASHINGTON – The Latino Coalition said bringing Hector Barreto on board will help take the organization "to a whole new level." "Hector Barreto is one of the most respected leaders in our nation," said Robert de Posada, president of the coalition. "As national chairman, Hector Barreto will be a leader that helps set the community on the right course to greater prosperity." Posada said one of the coalition's main missions is to closely monitor public policy at the federal, state and local levels to determine its impact on the Latino communities throughout the U.S., and engage in public education campaigns when warranted.
