HAMILTON, N.J. – Hamilton Horizons Federal Credit Union CEO/ New Jersey Credit Union League Board Secretary Cindy Rein-Zima helped make sure consumers know how CUs are supporting the Children's Miracle Network. Rein-Zima was recently interviewed on a television program, The Children's Miracle Network Celebration, and spoke with local CN8 host Joe Bisicchia about the efforts of credit unions in three states to raise funds for the national nonprofit. New Jersey's credit unions, along with those in Pennsylvania and Delaware, donated more than $11,000 to the Children's Miracle Network Credit Unions for Kids campaign in 2005. In New Jersey, more than $7,800 was raised through a silent auction, bowl-a-thons and other events. "The credit unions in these three states are really committed to helping their communities – especially children. Knowing that the funds raised – 100 percent of the funds raised – go to programs at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia makes this such a worthwhile effort," said Rein-Zima. "Injured and ill children have access to child life services – music and art therapies, and social workers – that they might not have otherwise had," she said. Rein-Zima explained that credit unions have a long history of supporting their communities and the underserved. "This is exactly what the credit union philosophy is all about – people helping people. In this case, it is people helping children. We're very proud that our credit unions stepped up to help. CMN is a wonderful organization that does great things," added Rein-Zima. The program will air on Comcast's CN8 June 2 from 8-10PM, June 3 from 6-10PM and June 4 from 8PM-Midnight.
