ALEXANDRIA, Va.-NCUA has closed the doors of another tiny credit union and is in the process of issuing checks to accountholders. On April 4, NCUA liquidated $130,000 St. Charles Borromeo Church Federal Credit Union of New York City. The credit union had been serving 200 members of the church since 1967, but the agency determined the credit union to be insolvent and management had abandoned operations. NCUA's Asset Management and Assistance Center will be issuing checks once member share accounts are verified and questions have been directed to the center at 512-231-7900, fax 512-231-7920, 4807 Spicewood Springs Road, Suite 5100, Austin, Texas 79759-8490. The agency assured that all funds were federally insured to $100,000 per account.
