MADISON, Wis. – The Credit Union Executives Society has donated 50 manuals from its product line to support the efforts of the Strathmore-World Council of Credit Unions African Management Institute in Nairobi, Kenya. The CUES publications will help stock a library at the Strathmore University for credit union staff and board members who are participating in the program, the organization said. The program was developed by WOCCU and Strathmore University to prepare aspiring managers, board members and senior savings and cooperative management staff to handle the challenges faced within the credit union environment. "CUES is always pleased to help support efforts to strengthen the credit union community whenever possible. It's our hope this donation will be far reaching, and serve the movement in Africa for many years to come," said Rose Bartolomucci, CUES' chairman of the board of directors and president/CEO of Kent Credit Union. The book donation, worth an estimated $6,000, includes a variety of CUES titles covering branching, strategic planning and business principles, as well as board, CEO and employee issues.
