Redwood Credit Union, Santa Rosa, Calif., was voted “Best Credit Union” in a readers’ poll conducted by North Bay Biz, a monthly business magazine serving the San Francisco North Bay counties of Sonoma, Napa and Martin. Winners were given their awards at a ceremony held recently at the Embassy Suites in San Rafael. The award comes after another strong growth year for the CU. It now exceeds $1.3 billion in assets and serves 121,000 members. Northwest Community Credit Union, Springfield, Ore., one of the largest CUs in the state, ranked 17th among the 100 best small companies to work for in Oregon and received the highest score of any financial institution in the state, as ranked by Oregon Business magazine. The rankings are part of the publication’s “100 Best Companies to Work for in Oregon” survey. As part of the survey, NWCU employees responded to questionnaires on a variety of workplace-related topics including work environment; performance management; career development and learning; decision making and trust; and employee benefits. NWCU employs 238 people and operates 13 branches in 12 counties. CFE Federal Credit Union, Orlando, Fla., has selected Marion Arden as distinguished manager for the third quarter of 2005. Arden has been recognized by the staff for her leadership skills and by members for her knowledge and professionalism. She received a plaque in recognition of the award at a special presentation recently. The CU has also announced its distinguished employee of the month designations for October – December 2005. Janice Blue, who has been responsible for the successful development and maintenance of the Disaster Recovery Plan, was named distinguished employee for October. Brenda Yates, a member service representative at the Kissimmee branch has been recognized as distinguished employee for November. Shelia Justen, from the Apopka branch, was selected as distinguished employee for December. Individuals chosen as “Distinguished Employees of the Month” are cited for outstanding performance, teamwork and service to the credit union and its members. They are presented a special award denoting the honor.
