ALEXANDRIA, Va.-Anne-Marie Kelley has been appointed NCUA's new special assistant for legislative affairs as of March 27, Chairman JoAnn Johnson announced last week. Kelley previously served as legislative assistant to Senate Banking Committee Member Jim Bunning (R-Ky.). In that position, she analyzed and coordinated legislative issues dealing with banking, tax, agriculture, SBA, and the Department of Housing and Urban Development. Kelley earned a bachelor's degree in politics/international relations from Catholic University. "The agency's congressional outreach efforts are of the utmost importance, and having someone directly from Capitol Hill with Anne's experience and expertise will be a very positive development," Johnson commented. Director of Public and Congressional Affairs John McKechnie said, "The combination of her substantive and detailed understanding of financial services issues with a genuine awareness of how Congress works makes Anne perfect for this position."
