ARLINGTON, Va.-Working with the theme "Imagine the Possibilities," NAFCU has announced informative speakers and fresh educational session topics for its 39th Annual Conference and Exhibition. The 2006 Annual Conference, slated for the Metro Toronto Convention Centre, Canada July 12-15, will feature Emmy-winning entertainer and writer Ben Stein and business leadership and productivity expert Jason Jennings. Stein is an award-winning actor, economist, writer, journalist and teacher, and was valedictorian of his Yale Law School class. He has been a columnist for The Wall Street Journal and The New York Times, and has taught economics and securities law at Pepperdine Law School. Though Stein served as an advisor to President Richard Nixon, he may be best known for his show "Win Ben Stein's Money" that won six Emmys and a small but memorable role in the 1986 movie "Ferris Bueller's Day Off." Jennings, the youngest radio station owner in the world, has spent 20 years founding, leading and consulting successful businesses around the world. Five years ago he spent 18 months traveling the globe in search of and digging deep inside the fastest companies in the world for his best seller, "It's Not the Big That Eat the Small-It's the Fast That Eat the Slow." Additionally, NAFCU has added new topics to its educational sessions, including Fraud Detection and Prevention, Biometrics, College Marketing, Bank Secrecy Act, Emerging Markets, Banker Attacks, and others. Special meeting attached to the conference include the Defense Credit Union Summit, Chairs Caucus, CEOs Forum, Senior Management Forum and the NAFCU annual business meeting. Friday evening of the conference, NAFCU said the world-renowned troop Cirque Eloise will do a special show including acts specifically designed and created for NAFCU at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre Ballroom together with an extravagant dinner. The spouses' program will include a city tour, trip to Niagara Falls, and more. The trade association also announced that its exhibition hall is already 75% filled.
