HARRISBURG, Pa. – PSECU wants members to know that any e-mails they receive from PSECU are legitimate. Working with its e-mail vendor, DocuMatix, PSECU created a four-digit "unique identifier" code to appear on e-mails that are either promotional in nature or are sent as part of PSECU's "e-Alerts" service. Only the credit union can create the unique identifier, so if the number is not present or is not correct, the recipient knows the e-mail is fraudulent. "We take security and the protection of member information very seriously at PSECU," said Kevin Doyle, PSECU's information security manager. "The unique identifier is a way for the member to verify that electronic communication is indeed coming from PSECU."
