Alamo Chapter of Credit Unions, San Antonio, has celebrated the 20th anniversary of Credit Unions for Kids (CUFK) by presenting Christus Santa Rosa Children's Hospital with a check for $384,892. CUFK is a national fund-raising program, which began in San Antonio in 1985 as a collaborative effort of credit unions and their business partners. Over the years, CUFK locally has raised over $4 million for Santa Rosa Children's Hospital, a member of the Children's Miracle Network (CMN). The chapter was recognized for its efforts with an award. Yolo Federal Credit Union, Woodland, Calif. has donated $1,245 to the Food Bank of Yolo County. Members who enrolled to receive electronic statements generated a $5 donation to the charity. The Food Bank of Yolo County is the primary food source for 70 area non-profit agencies in Yolo County and will distribute over 2 million pounds of food this year. Community 1st Credit Union, Ottumwa, Iowa, has donated $25,000 to the Ottumwa Regional Health Center to benefit the Cancer Treatment Center. The 16,000 square-foot Cancer Center at Ottumwa Regional will enhance cancer care with new state-of-the-art equipment including a new linear accelerator and by bringing both medical and radiation oncology therapy under one roof.
