WAUKEGAN, Ill. – Consumers Cooperative Credit Union has celebrated turning 76 by revamping its logo and tagline. With an eye on standing out from the competition, the contemporary new image includes not only the shortened name of Consumers CU but also the promise of "Your Life, Our Commitment" "These words convey our commitment to help members in every stage of their life and that we'll attempt to meet them at the exact level of their needs," said CCU President Sean Rathjen. "Members will experience that commitment with each visit: that's part of our promise to them. We've also shortened our name to make it easier to say and easier to remember going forward." To reinforce its new brand image, Consumers CU has also expanded its hours and unveiled new checking and mortgage products such as Power Pak Plus Checking, an interest-bearing checking account product; 100% mortgage financing; and interest-only mortgages. Designed to accommodate members who like to keep large balances in their checking account, Power Pak Plus includes free bill payment and a discount on mortgage closing costs. Rathjen says providing members more convenience and choice are the driving force behind the new mortgage products. "Both programs clearly bring the dream of owning a home to more residents," said Rathjen. "Part of our commitment as a credit union is to make our products and services available to as many people as possible. Our two new mortgage options help us achieve that goal."
