COLUMBIA, Md. – When the Maryland and District of Columbia credit union leagues officially merged Jan. 1 to form the Maryland & District of Columbia Credit Union Association, one of the new association's goals was to find office space in downtown D.C. to lease. Its search is over. MDDCCUA has signed a contract to lease space at 1701 Pennsylvania Avenue, NW. The new space is approximately 2,700 square feet and will feature a training center and small boardroom The association expects to occupy the new space sometime during March. Sarah Turner, VP of Credit Union Development will serve as the officer in charge of the new office. MDDCCUA's two managers of governmental affairs Greg Saphier and Brian Tate will also be based in the D.C. office. MDDCCUA has selected Overton Associates to assist in developing the office space. The association said only minor changes to the office space are needed to develop the training center.
