SAN MATEO, Calif. – CheckFree Investment Services has selected the TriCipher Armored Credential System (TACS), from TriCipher, Inc., for multifactor authentication. TACS will be used when CheckFree deploys its new CheckFree EPL (Enhanced Portfolio Lifecycle) online investment management system. According to TriCipher, TACS provides a highly customizable multifactor authentication environment. At its minimum, the system places a software token on an authenticated user PC. Financial institutions can then optionally elect to deploy any combination of challenge questions, temporary pass codes, downloaded software modules, or USB authentication fobs, among other identification methods. CheckFree EPL is gradually being phased in to replace CheckFree APL, its current investment management system.
