DAYTON, Ohio – In a sign that electronic presentment, a.k.a. Check 21, is being pushed out to the merchant, retail systems provider Ingenico recently agreed to purchase check scanners from Panini North America. The Panini My Vision X scanner is already in use by a number of credit unions, and will become Ingenico's check scanner of choice. Ingenico provides the top 200 U.S. retail merchants with reliable, secure electronic transaction terminals designed to speed customer checkout while reducing the merchant's overall cost of business. The My Vision X allows Ingenico to provide new technology to these retail customers for back-office check image capture. The Panini My Vision X reads the MICR line and captures a high-quality digital image of the front and back of the check. The small footprint, sleek design, and quiet operation of the device allow for easy placement in virtually any location, including the back counter at a credit union branch or even a teller workstation. Panini reports selling more than 40,000 My Vision X scanners over the past year.
