MANASSAS, Va. -Synergy One Federal Credit Union has helped make the lives of those living in Gulfport, Mississippi easier since the devastation left by Hurricane Katrina. In an effort to support survivors, Synergy One FCU teamed up with A1 Flood Tech to collect more than $14,000. From corporate gifts and individual donations to an employee "Going Casual for Katrina" campaign in which employees donated through payroll deduction and were given the opportunity to dress casually every Wednesday starting in September and ending in December, members and employees alike opened their wallets. Synergy One FCU, as part of its Hurricane Katrina outreach also helped out locally by adopting three families that were re-located to Prince William County. For the Thanksgiving holiday, Synergy One FCU donated three trucks filled with requested items and provided Giant Food gift cards and over the Christmas holiday provided each family with Giant and Target gift cards to help make their holidays a little brighter.
