COLUMBUS, Ohio – Alliance One, the selective surcharge ATM network which is managed by Corporate One Federal Credit Union, has inaugurated a referral program through which participating credit unions can have their $250 annual participation fee waived if they refer a new credit union participant prior to May 31, 2006. If a credit union refers three or more other credit unions, the network will waive participation fees through 2010. "We've been successful in the Midwest and Great Lake regions and we're hoping this promotion will help us grow our reach and help more credit unions in other parts of the country offer convenient, selective-surcharge ATM access to their cardholders," said Paul Hixon, assistance vice president. "It's a bit of a `chicken and egg' scenario, since credit unions are sometimes hesitant to join unless they see a concentration of ATMs in their region. As we have seen in the past, someone has to be the first one in their area to join, and we're hoping this promotion will help us grow geographically," he said.
