WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. -Credit unions outgrew their spaces in 2005 as many were either breaking ground or opening the doors to their new headquarters. The year also saw a branch revival as credit unions continued to tie their brand identity into design. To create lasting member experiences, revamped credit union branches ranged from dynamic retail environments and themed spaces to featuring remote teller systems and dialogue towers as a way to promote convenience. A new player joined the credit union facilities game this year as St. Louis-based design/build/general contracting firm Clayco Construction Company launched its financial facilities division. The six-member team leading the new Clayco division are no strangers to credit unions they are former HBE Corporation executives- a move which prompted the design/build firm to file suit against Clayco.
