NORTH CANTON, Ohio – The $5 billion Suncoast Schools Credit Union began rolling out Diebold’s check scanning product on its Opteva ATMs to its almost 400,000 members on Nov. 9, according to Diebold. Suncoast is the first financial institution in the country to begin to deploy the deposit taking machines, Diebold said. The credit union will place 92 of the high-end Diebold machines primarily into branches by the end of the second quarter 2006, according to Maria Garcia, vice president with Suncoast. The new machines will, in the end, make up 200 Optevas that the credit union will deploy. Non-deposit taking Optevas will make up the balance of the 200 and many of those have already been deployed.
