Using a third-party vendor’s software, the credit union, which drives its own ATMs, was able to program its nearly 900 ATMs to allow members to change their personal identification numbers at the machines; designate a checking, savings or money market account that they would like to use as their default withdrawal account; designate by default if they would like to always receive a receipt or never receive a receipt; and select English or Spanish as their preferred language. Leanne Phelps, Senior Vice-President with the CU explained: “With the implementation of MY SECU, we’re hoping to make the visit to our Cash Points ATMs a more pleasant and efficient experience. For the first time in SECU history members are able to choose their own PIN – members requested this option and SECU has responded. We want them to feel comfortable using their ATM network.”
