TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Credit Union 24, one of the country's two remaining ATM networks owned by credit unions, has announced that it will move its switching business from Fiserv to Fifth Third Processing Solutions. Fifth Third has a long standing relationship with Credit Union 24, the network explained, as well as a close affiliation with other credit unions and credit union networks. Moving to Fifth Third would allow the network to offer its members improved pricing as well as more products and services, the network added. "This decision is a result of the continuous review of our strategic business direction," said Credit Union 24 Board Chairman Bob Fisher. "We're always looking to improve our products and processes, and feel that this transition is in the best interests of our member owners. This reaffirms our commitment to provide credit unions with the best combination of customer service, products and pricing in the market today." Jim Park, CEO of Credit Union 24 said that while the move will be transparent to the network's members, it represents significant work for the network. But he added that it was worth it because the move to Fifth Third will enable the Network to offer new products and services to its CU members, though he declined to discuss what those new products and services might be. He also said the move would occur gradually, over 18 months and would proceed processor to processor.
