WASHINGTON – The SEC has named Joy Gaines Thompson as the acting district administrator of its Philadelphia district office (PDO), the agency announced Oct. 14. Thompson will succeed Arthur Gabinet, who will leave the SEC at the end of October to head up the securities regulation group at the Vanguard Group. Thompson currently serves as the associate district administrator for examinations in the PDO and will continue to carry out the responsibilities of that position as the acting district administrator. The office is responsible for the SEC’s examination and enforcement programs in Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia, and the District of Columbia.
