WASHINGTON-America’s Community Bankers President and CEO Diane Casey-Landry has been named the 2006 Enterprising Woman of Washington award by the Business and Professional Women’s Council of the National Museum of Women in the Arts. The Enterprising Woman of Washington award is bestowed upon a local businesswoman of influence helping to shape the future of her professional field. Casey-Landry was chosen to honor her professional and entrepreneurial achievements within financial services and in recognition of her impact within the greater metropolitan Washington, D.C. area as well as throughout communities nationwide, according to BPWC Enterprising Woman Award Steering Committee Chairwoman Angela Brock. Casey-Landry has made strong advocacy a priority for the trade group, as well as enhancing staff expertise and offering educational programs and developing new products and services. ACB represents more than 1,250 community banks across the country with aggregate assets of $1.5 trillion. Prior to joining ACB, Casey-Landry was a principal and national director of Financial Services for Grant Thornton LLP where she was the chairman of its National Financial Services Committee and oversaw the firm’s financial services practice. She is a graduate of Miami University in Oxford, Ohio with an A.B. in economics and political science and earned a master’s degree in public administration from The George Washington University. Casey-Landry will receive the prestigious award at a ceremony at the museum on Feb. 15, 2006. BPWC focuses on furthering the recognition and celebration of women’s achievements.
