SAN FRANCISCO – Of an estimated $1.5 million in pledges and $1.1 million collected, the National Credit Union Foundation said last week it has now distributed $800,000 to Gulf Coast credit unions, their families and volunteers, according to Steve Delfin, executive director. More of the funds are expected to go out this week to the affected Leagues, said Delfin here for CUNA’s Future Forum. The needs in the CU family are still tremendous, he said suggesting that the solicitation of donations has to continue among state Leagues and individual CUs. Two weeks ago the first $500,000 of the funds was given to the Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama Leagues.
