NEWARK, Ohio – Hopewell Federal Credit Union is excited about football season. The credit union will sponsor this year's "Player of the Game" award on local radio station WNKO 101.7 FM's coverage of Licking County high school football. Hopewell Federal replaces National City Bank as this year's sponsor. Each week football announcers will select a "Hopewell Federal Player of the Game" and players will receive a Hopewell Federal tee shirt, shorts, and duffel bag. "We're proud to support Licking County high school football. If you've been to a game or lived in Ohio, you know how important high school football is. That's why we are honored to take part in this great sports tradition. We wish great luck to all the Licking County teams this season. This is an important part of our community," said Hopewell Federal President/CEO Al Smith. In keeping with the football theme, the credit union has also kicked off a "Don't Get Sacked By Your Bank" promotion. Members who open a checking account will receive their first box of checks free and will be eligible to enter the "tailgate giveaway" consisting of a $100 Al's Meat Market gift certificate, OSU blanket, chairs, cooler, and a grill. The promotion wraps up on Thanksgiving Day.
