SUMMERVILLE, S.C. – Senior managers at S.C. Federal Credit Union have discovered the combination of soap suds and elbow grease are a great way to show their appreciation for staffers. As part of a program to recognize employees during the credit union’s “Get Hooked Up” loan promotion, senior managers are going directly to the winning employee’s branch and washing his or her car. Once a month until the promotion ends in September, senior managers at S.C. Federal will wash the car of winning employees as their way to say thanks. This month’s employee winner was Luellen Brandemuehl, a branch service representative at the credit union’s Summerville location, who was responsible for processing the loan that qualified a credit union member to become a finalist in the promotion, so she received $50 and a well-deserved clean car. “This is an event I never thought I’d see,” said Brandemuehl while watching her car get scrubbed clean. “It’s been a blast. The fact that they would come out here and really roll up their sleeves shows me the commitment of our senior staff.” Also lined up for the promo is the give away of two 2005 Mustangs later this year. Members are automatically entered if they open a qualifying loan and each month, five of these members are selected at random to be one of the 20 finalists with a shot at winning one of the cars. The finalists will try their luck at the Coastal Carolina Fair on Thursday, November 3rd at 7 p.m.
