BAY CITY, Mich.-FinancialEdge Community Credit Union Marketing Manager Pam Swope has recently been elected North Central regional coordinator and treasurer for the National Youth Involvement Board (NYIB). The NYIB is a network of volunteers and professionals who help credit unions effectively attract, serve and educate young members. Swope brings over 10 years of credit union and youth-related experience to her new roles. She served as Michigan's NYIB State Voting Delegate for three years, and in 2003 was voted NYIB Outstanding State Delegate. She currently serves as chairperson of the Michigan Credit Union League's Family Involvement Council. "Pam is a long-time leader in Michigan's movement to advance youth financial literacy," said MCUL Association Services Vice President Lori Bahnmueller. "I'm confident the NYIB will benefit from both her breadth of knowledge and enthusiasm for the credit union movement." Every two years the NYIB Network elects six regional coordinators who serve in a volunteer capacity to propagate NYIB mission and goals throughout their regions. The coordinators also represent the NYIB at credit union movement functions, provide assistance to NYIB state boards and make youth and family marketing presentations at league, chapter and credit union meetings. "Pam brings to her North Central Regional Coordinator role years of state council leadership experience," said NYIB Chair Emeritus Rachel Parrent. "This experience will certainly benefit the NYIB and the North Central Region during her term on the Executive Committee. We look forward to working with her."
