ARLINGTON, Va. – Tom Candon, deputy commissioner of the Vermont Department of Banking was selected by NASCUS Chairman Roger Little to serve on the association’s board of directors. Candon will serve the unexpired term of Howard Pitkin who announced his retirement from the Connecticut Department of Banking on July 28 after nearly 30 years of service and resignation from the NASCUS Board effective Aug. 1. Candon’s term began Aug. 5 and will run until Sept. 2007. Candon was appointed to the Deputy Commissioner of Banking in June 1993. He has more than 13 years experience in areas including municipal, investment and deposit services, mortgage banking and operations division management. He also held the positions of Executive Vice President of the Vermont Bankers Association and the Associate Director of the Vermont League of Cities and Towns.
