ROME, Italy – Gary Plank, CEO of the Arizona Credit Union League, has another title, Chairman of WOCCU. He received the chain of office from outgoing Chairman L.R. Bobby McVeigh. The symbol of office is literally a black and gold series of metal squares with a gold medallion, presented by the Irish Credit Union League. In Ireland and the UK, chains of office are traditional and are worn on all ceremonial occasions. Plank first joined the WOCCU Board in 1997, and when he accepted the office he joked that he wasn’t sure he would be able to get it away from McVeigh. He has also worked for the Iowa Credit Union League and as the Managing Director of the South Dakota Credit Union League. Plank will hold the office for a two year-term.
