ROME, Italy – Delegates from credit unions from the U.S. and around the world will come together for four days this month in Rome for the World Council of Credit Union's 2005 World Credit Union Conference. From July 24-27 conferees will hear from a host of experts in a variety of areas speak on critical credit union and financial services issues. The event will also be the occasion for the first appearance of Pete Crear as WOCCU's new president. The U.S. delegates will certainly have met Crear before from his days at CUNA, the Michigan Credit Union League and the American Association of Credit Union Leagues,, as well as when he served as president/CEO of the Indiana Credit Union League and the Connecticut Credit Union Association. However , it will be the first time for most international delegates to meet WOCCU's new president. Credit Union Times will provide on-site coverage of the conference in an upcoming issue.
