RANCHO CUCAMONGA, Calif. and ATLANTA – Fresh off the recent announcement of their strategic partnership to provide CU Direct-participating credit unions with remarketing solutions in asset recovery, the indirect lending CUSO and Manheim, a leading provider of automotive services to commercial sellers and auto dealers, have announced their plan to hold the first ever Credit Union Remarketing Conference this fall. The conference will take place Nov. 2-4 at Manheim’s DRIVE center in Atlanta. The agenda of the three-day event will be designed to help credit unions better understand the remarketing business, addressing topics such as portfolio valuation, online sales (including the tour of a live auction in progress), the value of reconditioning, the practical applications of technology, and tutorials on important auction services. CU Direct’s Jerry Neemann, SVP and COO said the conference will be of great value to all credit unions. “Industry leaders like Manheim can provide insights on the auction business that will make the remarketing process simpler and more effective for credit unions.” Earlier this month, the two companies announced their partnership that designates Manheim’s Remarketing Solutions as the preferred provider for managing the back end of CU Direct’s participating CUs’ portfolios. As a result of that agreement, CU Direct will also be able to provide its CU clients with access to Manheim’s educational and training tools about the remarketing industry and the opportunity to leverage the company’s ability to consolidate vehicles at auction so sellers get more attractive run times. A wholly-owned subsidiary of Cox Enterprises, Manheim is a global organization with 32,000 employees at its 124 locations worldwide. It offers multiple selling opportunities and a full array of services including reconditioning, certification, marshalling, title management, retail inspection, vehicle transportation, and dealer floor planning. As a result of the agreement between CU Direct and Manheim, credit union sellers will be able to take advantage of dedicated credit union lanes at Manheim auctions nationwide and other services from Manheim Remarketing Solutions such as centralized nationwide repossession and remarketing management.
