RANTOUL, Ill. – Credit Union 1 says it will be converting to the USERS Inc. DataSafe core processing system next April. The credit union's president, Paul Simons, cited browser-based functionality choices in the credit union's decision to switch, particularly cross-selling capabilities. "We've invested in sales training, identified priority products and services, and developed an incentive program to reward employees for sales," Simons says. "What's been missing is the right technology." According to the "2004 Credit Union Technology Survey" from Callahan & Associates, the $398 million, 89,700-member CU currently is a client of CGI, which recently sold its credit union business to Open Solutions. Credit Union 1 also will implement USERS' PCU Internet Banking and expects to add the new Account-to-Account Transfers solution, enabling members to transfer funds electronically between accounts, Simons says.
