MADISON, Wis. – It's official, CUNA Credit Union's members overwhelmingly approved the name change to Great Wisconsin CU. Members gave their approval April 28 during a special meeting held at CUNA Mutual. The official vote was 215-58, a 79% approval percentage. CUNA CU CEO Kim Sponem said the next step is for the CU to file its letters of incorporation with the Department of Financial Institutions and to get busy on designing a new logo. She expects the official name change to take effect this November. The CU will gradually phase in the new name in terms of updating letterhead, business cards and other materials. "Our biggest cost will be signage. That should cost between $120,000 and $150,000," said Sponem.
