LANSING, Mich. – CASE Credit Union has marked the beginning of its new relationship with Lansing area Meijer stores with a ribbon cutting ceremony of its new in-store branch. The Delta Township Meijer branch is the first of two full-service in-store Meijer-based branches in the Lansing area. The second is expected to open in early May. These branches will be the sixth and seventh full-service CASE Credit Union branches in the Lansing area respectively. In addition, seven new ATMs will be located in Meijer stores throughout the greater Lansing area. "CASE Credit Union's new and exciting relationship with Meijer marks the start of a whole new era of service and convenience for our members," said CASE CU CEO Terry Pearson. "Since it was chartered in 1936, CASE Credit Union's mission has been to be responsive to our members' banking needs. The Meijer name is also synonymous with service. By providing our full range of banking services seven days a week to the greater Lansing area in a truly convenient, service-oriented facility, we hope to gain the loyalty of those individuals who want to do their banking at their convenience – not the convenience of the credit union." According to Pearson, CASE Credit Union is the first credit union in the Lansing area to provide seven-day-per-week banking. Plans are underway to hire 12 staffers for the in-store Meijer-based branches, many of whom will have more retail than banking experience. "Our in store staffers will be called `sales and service associates', not `tellers,'" said Pearson. "We are training our sales and service associates to think and act like retailers, adding value to our members' shopping and banking experience." Meijer is a family-owned and operated grocery and general merchandise supercenter retailer operating 165 stores throughout Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan and Ohio.
