CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The Internet is losing some of its allure as a way to do business in the face of continuing attacks by identity thieves and hackers of all stripes. Rebuilding that trust is going to require aggressive protection of accounts and identifying information, according to a new report from Forrester Research. The graph shown here illustrates the erosion in consumer confidence in one of the staples of electronic commerce: the security of credit card use in online transactions.
