ROCKVILLE, Md.-MCT Federal Credit Union was named an "Excellent Place to Work" by the Maryland Work-Life Alliance for the third time in the last four years. Congressman Chris Van Hollen (D-Md.) and Montgomery County Executive Doug Duncan presented the award to MCT FCU CEO Linda Ramsey. "The credit union has always been committed to making our organization a great place to work by providing work/life balance initiatives," Ramsey commented. "Receiving this award is truly an honor for what has been a long-standing practice." MCT FCU programs offered to staff includes flextime, telecommuting, option for compressed workweeks, one paid day each quarter to volunteer in the community, a career development program to take courses at the credit union's expense, and MCT Wellness Program that offers seminars on topics such as CPR or nutrition. "I see the work/life movement focusing more on the health and wellness of employees, and awareness is key," MCT Federal Credit Union Human Resources Generalist Eve Zouras explained. "Employers should address this by providing in-house work-out facilities, gym memberships and /or wellness programs." The Maryland Work-Life Alliance, affiliated with the National Work-Life Alliance, is a coalition of public, private and non-profit organizations organized in 2002 to develop and recognize excellent places to work.
