The Manufactured Housing Institute reports that for the month of December 2004, new HUD Code shipments of manufactured homes were up 11.3% compared to December 2003. Shipments of all HUD code homes for December were higher than a year ago in eight of nine regions and in 20 states. Shipments in Missouri and Georgia were flat. The only region of the U.S. that didn't show positive shipment growth was the east North Central area of the Midwest, and the MHI attributed that to the continuing condition of weak employment growth due to continued stgrong imports of manufactured goods.
