WASHINGTON-House Financial Services Member Deborah Pryce (R-Ohio) told attendees of CUNA's GAC not to worry if they did not get to meet directly with their members of Congress during their visits. “Meet with the staff. Around here, it's the staff who make all the decisions anyway,” she said laughing. Pryce added that the staff are often more knowledgeable on the issues than frazzled, weary lawmakers. Credit union representatives typically do not have too difficult a time being heard on the Hill anyway. “Credit union folks have one of the strongest voices on Capitol Hill,” Pryce said.
