MADISON, Wis.-A special edition of CUNA's Home & Family Finance magazine examining the bankers attacks and defending credit unions has been so popular it required a second printing. The initial 80,000 copies sold out almost immediately, according to CUNA, and an additional press run of 200,000 has been ordered to meet demand. The first quarter issue focuses squarely on the bank attacks to bring members up to speed on the matter. Contents include `A world without credit unions' and `What the credit union tax exemption means to consumers,' among numerous other articles. "We know these topics well in the credit union industry, but members may not have a grasp on how the issues affect them – right in the pocketbook," Vice President of CUNA's Center for Personal Finance Jim Hanson said. "We report about the historical and current legislative support for credit unions, how credit unions serve all consumers, including those of modest means, and run a fact check on banker claims about credit unions."
