MANHATTAN BEACH, Calif. – Kinecta Federal Credit Union's first Youth Money Management workshop helped bridge the financial literacy gap in dialogue between teens and their parents. Open to members and non-members, students were given their "job" and monthly salary for the day's activities. Many were shocked to find out that their budgets didn't allow for sports cars and top-of-the-line cell phones. Not only did it bring parents and teens together to discuss budgeting and money, but valuable lessons were learned about saving and spending money wisely. Kinecta FCU will offer Money Management workshops for teens and their parents throughout the year.
