PORTSMOUTH, N.H. – Service Credit Union is matching up to $50,000 to help raise $100,000 for the tsunami relief effort. "Service Credit Union sympathizes with those who are experiencing the effects of the tragedy in southern Asia and East Africa," said Service CU President/CEO Gordon Simmons. "By matching the contribution received at the credit union, more lives may be saved and fewer victims may go hungry, shelterless, or fall prey to disease. Together we will all have made a difference by helping our fellow man." The fundraising effort will continue through February 28, when the credit union will donate the money raised to the nonprofit disaster relief and humanitarian aid organization AmeriCares. In addition to boxes set up at branches, donations can be made online at www.servicecu.org.
